Saturday Snaps: Rider Mileage

I feel a bit silly being this excited about finally getting my AERC patch*. I have been competing since 2008. I have 845 distance miles. However, I've managed to break them up so evenly that I never put enough in one category to get an award. I currently have 355 endurance miles, 225 LD miles, and another 265 non-AERC miles from ECTRA. Nonetheless, I was DELIGHTED to finally get my first AERC chevron. Excited enough to make a whole post about it. /dorkiness

*Patches are given to every rider (and horse) when they reach 250 miles. You get a patch for LD miles (competitions under 50 miles) and a patch for endurance miles (50+). Then you get a chevron in each category at 250, 500, 750, 1000, 2000...If I do one more LD I'll get that patch too.

  1. NOT dorky at all, especially given how long you've been competing in the sport! Big congratulations, Dom! :)

  4. Congratulations! That is not dorky. It takes a lot to get through all those miles. Plus you gave to consider all the conditioning miles you put in to get the competition miles. It all adds up. Someday I hope to earn so e badges as well.
