They are literally coming and going faster than I can keep up! Most of these are already out the door, and a new batch came in over the weekend. I am in the process of photographing them, but I'm trying to keep up with the past ones so I don't get completely behind again! My favorite the is the beagle mix going "barooo!" And yes, the white ones are as tiny as they appear. This patch also featured a little girl with a pretty bad parrot mouth that doesn't affect her appetite at all, and a girl with a mystery neurological ailment that we're in the process of figuring out. The doc suspects a liver shunt. Anyway, have some cuteness!

Saturday Snaps: Puppy Spam
I have not been keeping up with puppy posts at all, but I think I'm going to have to give up on backlogged entries given that my laptop is definitely gone forever and all my neatly organized photos went with it. So here you go, recent puppies that are or were available for adoption.
I think I mentioned Vicky a while ago:
She came in with a similar looking puppy named Ricky. They were listed as brother and sister. Only, when they arrived, it turned out that Vicky was significantly older than Ricky. We thought he was her puppy. But then, when it came time to spay her, it turned out that she was pregnant! Ricky was not old enough for his mom to be pregnant again. So they are either not related, or from different litters.
Regardless, we did not spay Vicky (who now goes by Sparkle, apparently). A few weeks later, she had four teeny, tiny, adorable puppies. All four were girls and they were named Glimmer, Twinkle, Shine, and Twilight.Sparkle has been a really good mom and her puppies are fat little sausages. She gladly shares them with us and looks so proud when you handle them, like, "Look, I made those!" Mom is slowly spending less and less time with them, and they'll be ready for weaning (and adoption) soon. Mostly, I just squeal about how cute they are.
Sparkle is a really great little dog. Friendly, obedient, energetic, but not obnoxious. She's great with cats and dogs and people and I am sure she'll find a home in no time.
Here are her pups:
We also have another mommy dog, named Celia. She is some kind of rottie mix (probably with some kind of terrier, judging by the hint of a beard on her face). She is a total sweetheart and learns quickly.
Celia came in with six (!) puppies. Three boys and three girls. The girls all look like little rotties and the boys all look like little labs. Three got adopted before I even got photos of them, and two more have left since. There's just one little girl left. This one:
I think my favorite was her little boy, Koda:
Here are the three that were left when I last saw them:
We also have this older girl who was already spayed and was previously someone's pet. Her name is Samantha and she's overweight, but a total love bug. It takes longer for the adult dogs to find homes than the puppies, but this girl should have no problem finding someone.
I heard a rumor that we're getting more pups this weekend. If I remember, I'll post more spam some time this week.

Saturday Snaps: Pups
The dogs that came in this past week. Most of them are already adopted. The little girl with the toy in her mouth found a home the second we posted her photo. The black boy with the white on his chest was super energetic and adorable and went quickly. The scruffy terrier looking boy with the Yoda ears still needs a home. We were told that the scruffy girl was his mom, but she's pregnant so it's more likely she's a half sister. Looks like we'll have newborn puppies soon! And the fluffy girl on the right was spoken for before I even photographed her! So many lives saved, and I'm sure there will be more coming soon.

WW: Puppies
I'm still photographing dogs for the rescue. This week, I have Diana assisting me at the clinic. I wish she would just drop out of college and come help me full time (not really, but I can dream). This means I have someone to actually set the puppies up for me instead of just letting them run amok in the yard while I frantically try to get a half decent photo.
But first, an interlude from Bob. Bob always comes over to 'help' when I do photos. Yesterday, he got sick of never being the one in the spotlight.

This adorable little girl was found roaming the streets with a badly infected eye. The eye had to be removed, but that doesn't seem to slow her down! |
