As far as Herbie goes, not much has changed over the years. The photo on the left was taken in 2011. The photo on the right was taken two nights ago.
Herbie is definitely Mike's dog. I walk her, feed her, play with her, and let her sleep in the bed with me, but I may as well not exist if her "daddy" is around.
With winter fast approaching, Herbie is starting to nestle down and get ready to hibernate, or her version of it.
We've been lucky this year with the mild weather we've been having, but Herbie knows it's coming, and the fur between her toes is getting long already. As soon as the sun goes down, I start getting hints about the fact that she really needs more blanket time.

"Would you mind tucking me in?" |
This is where I'm glad to have Julio, who is also super snuggly, but who is very much my dog.
He is pretty much glued to my side, and he provides 80 pounds of body heat. When Mike leaves for work in the mornings, I get one dog on each side. Woohoo!
So I guess our picture has changed a bit since 2011.
Julio doesn't mind the impending winter at all. In fact, he loves snow. He does do a lot of making me laugh though. Like when he watches Squirrel TV or takes selfies. Herbie knows that the TV/computer/tablet are not real life. Julio hasn't gotten that memo and I get hours of entertainment out of watching him watch things.
As for the selfies... well... check them out...
Best of all, the dogs love each other. Julio now lives loose in the house full time, and I often catch the two of them curled up together when I get home.
so cute!
ReplyDeleteSo happy Julio can be out of the crate during the day! What a great job y'all have done with him. I know it has to be such a treat to not worry so much any more about having him loose in the house. =)
