TOABH: Sugar Momma

Sugar Momma.
Let's continue pretending that horse poop magically transforms into money instead of the other way.  So money doesn't matter.  If you could buy anything for your horse, what would you buy?

And by 'for your horse', I might mean 'for your horses' owner'.

If money was no issue I would buy a horse trailer with full blown living quarters so we could travel the country in comfort. Of course, I would also need a truck to tow it with.

You know, something modest. Like this:

Just a little thing (gotta have room for current and future ponies, of course!) This should do the trick:

In all seriousness, just a regular three horse slant would do the trick. Then I would only need this to pull it:

Of course, I don't want my ponies to just be comfortable on the road. They deserve a home that gives them the best of everything as well. For my comfort and convenience my ponies' sake, there would have to be acres of rolling pasture, a heated tack room, hot and cold wash stall, equicizer, indoor arena, outdoor arena, and trail access. Of course, their mother would have to be spoiled rotten live comfortably to ensure she's in the best state of mind to properly care for them, so a log cabin complete with decks overlooking the horses would be ideal. The whole thing would have to come with full time, professional, experienced, and caring staff. Hey, money's no issue... they'd be well compensated!

This would be ok:

Just plop this cabin on the hill by the lake:

Ok ok! I think I've taken this no financial limits thing too seriously. My real life dream would be to get a horse trailer and a small farmette.  Around ten acres with a 2-4 stall barn and a lofted apartment would be perfect. An indoor would be nice for training horses in the winter, but trail access and a round pen are much more important to me. I do love an equicizer, but it's not a must. Hot water in the wash stall would be necessary though.

This barn/apartment combo from DC Builders would be gorgeous:

Mike and I have seriously looked at the Morton barns. They seem to be affordable and high quality, which is what we really need.

To be perfectly honest, if I had it my way, I would magically get enough money to buy the farm we're living on right now. It has everything I currently need, plus a warehouse/shop space that would make Mike happy. I would expand the current arena and potentially put up a small outdoor in the space behind the warehouse. The round pen here is perfect already, and the pastures are in great shape. The barn is beautiful and I would be more than happy to call it my own.

I'm not sure what we would do with the house up front (currently sitting empty) but I'd love to drop a spiral staircase to turn our current apartment building into our house.

As for barn staff.... I'm too much of a control freak to stop taking care of my own horses, but it would be nice to have someone super reliable to stay with them while I'm away competing.

  4. What commandment says "don't' covet they neighbors things" - or something like that? Because I am SO guilty right now of that sin. Sigh. (nice new blog look - quite fancy)

  6. I want a farmette! God, ten acres would be perfect. Four horse, so I could have two of my own and two boarders. Preferably retirees with less-than-crazy owners. The dream.
