Almost a month ago, Mike and I went hiking at
Merrill Creek Reservoir. We went there three years ago, when we first started dating. That time, we saw bald eagles, and I was disappointed because my old camera failed to do them justice. This time, we left the dogs at home and came with two cameras. We didn't see eagles, but we had a wonderful walk. Our timing was perfect in terms of the lighting, and we got back to the car just as darkness fell. We probably should have waited a week for better fall colors, but our schedules are so packed that we seize any day we get. It took me forever to get around to looking through the photos, but here they are.

Mike has really gotten into the photography thing lately. |

View from the new bird blind. |

Nice butt :) |

Artsy fartsy. |

He had no idea I was taking pictures of him. |
 |
The water is so clean. |

This is actually a fish grabbing a morsel from the surface! |

Three years ago, Mike ran down these stairs and declared they were his stairway to heaven because I was at the top. We recreated that scene this year. |

For perspective. That's Mike down there... |
My gosh what a gorgeous area! Is the bird a loon? The kind of trails I'd want to ride too! Beautiful photos!
ReplyDeleteFunny you should say that!I was telling Mike I'd love to ride these trails. They don't allow horses though :(
DeleteAnd the bird is a cormorant.
These are fabulous! Thanks so much.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures. What type of camera are you two using?
ReplyDeleteOn this particular day we had a Canon T2i and a Canon xTi (which they no longer make). I just got a Panasonic Lumix FZ1000. We are thinking of getting a T5. Many of the photos in my blog are taken with our two point and shoots (an old Olympus and an EasyShare).
DeleteSpectacular photos! Love the birds reflected in the water- just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteLove the staircase story! What a guy!
ReplyDeleteLove the clear water, and the fish bubbles.
